Coffee - Colombia Ana Donneys
Joylight Coffee Roasters
This coffee is named for producer Ana María Donneys, a fifth-generation coffee grower from the heart of Quindío, Colombia, whom Joylight roaster Jack was lucky enough to meet on his trip to Colombia in 2025.
Ana María Donneys is a fifth-generation coffee grower from the heart of Quindío, Colombia. After her grandfather passed away in 2019, she stepped in to carry forward the family legacy. But the reality hit hard: her first harvest sold for less than the cost of production. Everyone had always said coffee was difficult… and now she felt it firsthand.
Searching for a better path, Ana moved to Bogotá. There she discovered something that changed everything: producers who focused on quality could transform their future. Inspired and determined, she returned home and founded Café Primitivo in 2020—named in honor of her grandfather and built on the belief that exceptional, innovative coffee could create opportunity rather than limitation.
