Three Years of TerraCycle
It was just about three years ago that we started our TerraCycle program. We purchased our first set of boxes with seed money from the Greater Topeka Partnership, and those boxes lasted us a long time! We'd fill one up every month or two, and sending it off always felt like an event. Today, we're shipping them out by the cartful!
This isn't exactly a typical load—several boxes just happened to fill up at the same time—but it's also not out of the ordinary to have several go out in a given week.
Three years in, the TerraCycle train is chugging along at high speed, and many of you have become TerraCycle experts. We love hearing customers explain the process to new folks who come in to the shop, and we consider it a blessing that every Saturday ends with a large pile of recyclables to sort. Thanks to everyone who uses the program for doing what you can to keep hard-to-recycle items out of the landfill and for using some of your discretionary dollars to cast a vote for a more full-circular future.
