• Local, Organic, and Beyond

All of our local farm partners produce their fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, and meat sustainably here in northeast Kansas. The farmers grow organically (with varying levels of certification), and many utilize growing practices that go beyond organic standards. These include soil regeneration, native plant species diversification, water conservation, and permaculture. The growers aim to not only avoid harming our land, but also help heal the soil from decades of nutrient depletion.

Our local ferment and kombucha producers make use of seasonal, local, and organic produce when possible. Local and organic ingredients are identified on product labels or descriptions.

For pantry items that are not grown locally, we seek out conscientious suppliers that source ethically and responsibly. We consider factors such as sustainable growing practices, location of the producer and distributor, minimal packaging, and fair trade practices when developing these supplier relationships.
