Last Call for Free Recycling of Food Storage Containers!

Last Call for Free Recycling of Food Storage Containers!

Some of the recycling programs we participate in through TerraCycle are free to join, and others we have to pay for. So far, we've been able to recycle food storage containers (Tupperware, Rubbermaid, Pyrex, etc.) through a free recycling program. But that program is ending at the end of the year, so we'll be doing our last shipment on December 15. If you have any old, broken food storage containers sitting around that you've been meaning to get rid of, the next four weeks are your best chance to do it.

After Dec. 15, we can still recycle food storage containers in our Kitchen Waste box, but that one has a fee associated with it. The box costs about $80 per cubic foot and is filling up very quickly! If you'd like to make a donation to help purchase the next one, you can do that here, or by making a donation when you drop off recyclables at the shop.
