Field Update: A Trip to Skyview Farm & KANbucha
We had a wonderful Wednesday this week picking up from our newest suppliers: Skyview Farm in Pleasanton and KANbucha in Lawrence! We got a neat look behind the scenes—from the cozy, warm, fragrant kombucha brewing closet (I could just relax there all day!) to the sterile metal milking parlor and processing room at Skyview.
The highlight of the trip was meeting all the producers (Elliot from KANbucha, Bill and Sheri from Skyview, and Skyview's future milk-makers, including Skittles)!
We finished out the day picking up veggies from the rest of our regular suppliers. It was my first time visiting Summerpick Farm in Meriden, so Tracy and Kim gave me the full tour, including a sneak peek into how the carrots are coming along! Summer crops are still several weeks away, but tomatoes are in the ground, squash are started, and everything's ready to start popping off as soon as nature allows!
