To reycle your tube, cut off both ends and make a slit down the side to open it up completely, then brush/wash off the remaining toothpaste and recycle with aluminum foil. The best way to do this is to collect a bunch of foil and fold it all together so you have a sizeable amount before putting it in your recycling bin.
