Apples - Braeburn
Apples - Braeburn
Two pounds of apples grown by South Baldwin Farms in their orchard located 20 miles south of Lawrence.
Braeburn apples have a classic apple taste with a balance of sweet and tart flavors, and subtle hints of pear and cinnamon. They are versatile and can be eaten fresh or used in cooking, such as for pies, crisps, sauces, and salads. They hold their shape well when cooked and don't release a lot of juice.
South Baldwin Farms does not follow organic practices, but they reduce pesticide usage via a variety of integrated pest management techniques. In addition, some of the pesticides they use are organic (OMRI certified), and they use drip irrigation to reduce water usage.
