Wood

Wood

Yard waste (trees, limbs, logs, leaves) can be taken to one of two yard material composting/recycling facilities:

Lumber in good condition (no nails) can be donated to Topeka Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Usable wood pallets can be donated to Murphy's Pallet Brokerage.

For unusable scrap lumber, GreenPoint Construction & Demolotion Processing Center is your best recycling option. In additon to lumber, they accept concrete, bricks, rocks, roofing materials, wood, sheetrock, and much more. Drop-off is by the ton, starting at around $75. Call for precise pricing information. You can also hire a junk-hauling service and ask whether they will recycle your materials at a C&D (construction & demolition) waste facility rather than dumping them in the landfill. United We Junk is one such service that will do so.
