The farmers at Stone & Sparrow Farm and Mill are true stewards of the land, seeking above all to improve the soil health of the land they farm. They do this with a heavy cover crop rotation and a deep understanding of soil biology and ways to create a healthy microbiome. 

The growing process is thoughtful as well. The grain varieties they choose have been selected for flavor rather than high yield and disease resistance as is common with commodity crops. They do not use chemical pesticides or herbicides.
