Dryer Balls
Dryer Balls
These wool dryer balls from Mama Moon Boutique are felted in Nepal by workers paid a fair wage. The wool is from New Zealand.
An order is for one dryer ball, so make sure to indicate the quanitity you want. (We recommend 3-4 balls for small to medium loads or 5-6 balls for large to extra large loads.)
Available in plain white wool or gray with adorable smiling sheep.
What Are Dryer Balls?
Dryer balls are a chemical-free, waste-free replacement for dryer sheets. Dryer sheets make fabric feel softer by coating it with chemicals that build up over time and make it less absorbent—as well as potentially irritating your skin. Dryer balls, on the other hand, soften fabric by gently beating it around. They keep clothes from clumping together in the dryer, which reduces drying time. They can help reduce static. And they’re made of wool, so you can use them hundreds or thousands of times before eventually composting them.
Tips on Use
-Reduce static cling by attaching a safety pin to one or two of your dryer balls. You can also reduce static by moistening the dryer balls with water, a 1:1 mixture of water and white vinegar, or a scented spray like the one below.
Dryer Ball Spray
In a 4 oz. spray bottle, combine 1 Tablespoon witch hazel or liquid glycerin with 20 drops essential oils, then fill the rest of the bottle with distilled (or boiled and cooled) water. Or you can replace half the water with white vinegar to help reduce static cling. Shake it all up and spritz several times on your dryer balls before each load.
