Chicken - Whole

The classic chicken! A medium (3-4 lb.) whole chicken from Sweetlove Farm will feed 4-6. Delicious fried, roasted, broasted, braised, poached, grilled, broiled, or sautéed. All chicken products come frozen in shrink-wrapped packages.

*If your delivery order contains meat and you won't be home to receive it, please leave out a cooler; otherwise we cannot leave your order.* We will deliver Thursday evening, between 5:00-8:30 p.m.

Sweetlove Farm raises their chicken on fresh pasture, moving their mobile coop once or twice a day to ensure great access to forage and grubs. This technique is not only great for the chickens, but it also helps increase the fertility and organic matter of Sweetlove's pasture soils through the controlled spreading of the chickens' highly enriching manure as they move around the field.

While we work towards carrying pieced-out chicken in the future, please know that utilizing whole chickens is one of the most sustainable and ethical ways to utilize the animal. Learning how to piece a whole chicken can be simple and rewarding, as well as a way to connect to our roots. Generations before us relied on the skill.
