Bicycle Parts

Bicycle Parts

Bicycles are great for zero-emissions transportation, and they're mostly made of recyclable materials.

Bike Parts

Any parts in good condition (as well as tools, WD 40, and rags) can be donated to the Topeka Community Cycle Project.

Bike Tires

Tires can be recycled at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility (up to five per year) or bike repair shops with the purchase of a new tire.

Bike Tubes

We are not aware of a local place to recycle bike tubes for free. Before giving your tubes to a bike shop for recycling, confirm that they recycle them through a dedicated tube recycling program—not in the county or general recycling bin.

The closest location we know of for free tube recycling is REI in Overland Park.

You can also recycle bike tubes at Full Circle Sustainability as part of their TerraCycle program.

Bike Frames

Metal bike frames can be recycled at a scrap metal facility.
