Five apples (approximately 1.8 lbs.) grown by South Baldwin Farms in their orchard located 20 miles south of Lawrence. These apples have a bruise or small bad spots but would be great for cooking or if you'll be cutting them up anyway.

Sweet. Firm. Tart. Developed at the University of Minnesota, the honeycrisp apple has become so popular it was designated the state fruit in 2006. It is the third best-selling apple in the U.S., surpassed only by gala and red delicious. 

South Baldwin Farms does not follow organic practices, but they reduce pesticide usage via a variety of integrated pest management techniques. In addition, some of the pesticides they use are organic (OMRI certified), and they use drip irrigation to reduce water usage.
