Five granny smith apples (approximately 2 lbs.) grown by South Baldwin Farms in their orchard located 20 miles south of Lawrence.

Granny Smith apples are green and tart, excellent for baking or caramel apples. They also work well on cheese boards and in salads, as they are slow to brown when cut.

South Baldwin Farms does not follow organic practices, but they reduce pesticide use with a variety of integrated pest-management techniques. In addition, some of the pesticides they use are organic (OMRI certified), and they use drip irrigation to reduce water usage.
