Two pounds of apples grown by South Baldwin Farms in their orchard located 20 miles south of Lawrence.

Gold Rush apples are yellow apples with a crisp, firm texture and intense, sweet-tart flavor with a little bit of spice. They hold their shape well when baked and are also excellent for eating fresh.

South Baldwin Farms does not follow organic practices, but they reduce pesticide usage via a variety of integrated pest management techniques. In addition, some of the pesticides they use are organic (OMRI certified), and they use drip irrigation to reduce water usage.
