Five Arkansas Black apples (approximately 2 lbs.) grown by South Baldwin Farms in their orchard located 20 miles south of Lawrence.

If you like the "red" cherry notes of Red Delicious but wish they were crispier, Arkansas Black is your apple! With a dark red skin and white flesh, they have a sweet taste and crispy texture. They keep exceptionally well and may even improve with age.  

South Baldwin Farms does not follow organic practices, but they reduce pesticide use with a variety of integrated pest-management techniques. In addition, some of the pesticides they use are organic (OMRI certified), and they use drip irrigation to reduce water usage.
