Note that the aluminum is coated with a food-safe liner (just like aluminum cans). Washing them (particularly in the dishwasher) will break down this liner over time, at which point there is some risk of the cups leaching aluminum. The manufacturer's website recommends using the cups up to 10 times, then recycling.
