Easy Homemade Granola
If you're a granola lover and haven't been making your own, it's definitely worth a try! You can make a big batch in less than 30 minutes, avoid the cereal box packaging, and probably save some money as well!
I like this simple granola recipe from the Kansas City-based food blog Cookie + Kate. You can make it with oats, nuts, dried fruit, and honey from Full Circle, plus some oil and a few spices from your pantry. The blog post includes tips on making your granola extra clumpy (if you like that) and suggests several variations you can make to the basic recipe: cranberry orange, gingerbread, chocolate chip, etc.
Even without the preservatives of storebought cereal, this granola stores well (1-2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature or 3+ months in the freezer). It also makes a beautiful gift, especially at the holidays. When your friends tell you they love it, make sure to tell them where to go to buy the ingredients! Better yet, just attach a Full Circle flyer to the gift tag. You can spread the love of good granola while spreading the news about where to find package-free pantry goods at the same time!
Happy snacking!
