Give Your Old Watch Some More Time
Every week, someone gives me a new recycling mystery to solve. Last week, it was watches. Are they e-waste? Is the watch band considered fabric? What the heck do I do when its band is broken and its heart stops ticking?
In the olden days, you might have found a watch maker who would harvest the parts to make something new. But that's much less likely these days. So here's another option: send it back to a company that makes watches! The Timex ReWound program accepts watches of any brand in any condition for reuse and recycling. The program is free, so you can mail your old watches in yourself...or bring them to us, and we'll wait until we have a box-full to make the shipment more worthwhile. Find out more about the recycling program here and see the list of all the other items we can recycle through our free and paid programs.
