Cleaning Up Dental Waste

We set up our first free TerraCycle outpost this week at Fox Family Dental! They'll be collecting toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, and floss containers that we will pick up and send to TerraCycle along with the material we collect at the shop. We're excited about the chance to divert a lot more dental waste and expose more people to the TerraCycle program in general! As we reach more people, we can also tell them about waste-free dental alternatives, such as toothpaste tablets and bamboo toothbrushes. It's all part of a strategy to tackle dental waste from every angle!

And speaking of tackling different types of dental waste: we have to shout out Full Circle friend Kaylyn Hobelman, who brought this idea to Dr. Fox in the first place. She is a grassroots go-getter/waste warrior who has been working with Dr. Fox for years to recycle all the plastic bags and film their office uses (about 600 lbs. so far). Thanks so much to Kaylyn for getting this going and to Dr. Fox for jumping on board!

We've contacted most of the other dentists' offices in Topeka as well and will distribute  collection boxes to as many as are interested. Feel free to mention it to your dentist at your next appointment! The idea will probably mean more if they hear it from a patient (or two). Together, we can create a culture of recycling in Topeka!
